Attack Theatre, a Pittsburgh-based contemporary dance production company, celebrated the new year at their happy hour at Social at Bakery Square on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015. Friends and family, as well as dancers, staff and board came together to enjoy Social’s food and drinks. All proceeds from the happy hour benefited Attack Theatre’s programming.

For over twenty years, Attack Theatre has depicted everyday life in intensely personal, collaborative dance-based performances that feature live original music, modern dance and interdisciplinary expression. Artistic directors Michele de la Reza and Peter Kope founded the company in 1994 to further their mission of combining multimedia forms to make performance art more accessible for audiences. Attack Theatre is also focused on building communities between performers and their audiences. They have staged works in unusual venues and have contributed to local communities through neighborhood partnerships and educational programming in Pittsburgh and beyond.

As part of their arts education programming, Attack Theatre is currently running a Winter Dance Workshop in the Pittsburgh Opera Building on Wednesday evenings. Michele de la Reza leads the 90-minute modern dance class for adults and no experience is necessary to participate. Find out more about this event and others here.

Here are some photos from the evening.
