President Trump visited the site of the Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting Tuesday Afternoon. Him and his family were there to pay respects to the eleven people killed and seven injured by the hate motivated mass shooting Friday, October 27th.

The presidential visit started at The Tree of Life Congregation where he met with Rabbi Jeffrey Myers. He was accompanied by his family – First Lady Melania Trump, daughter Ivanka Trump, son-in-law Jared Kushner as well as Steven Mnuchin the Treasury Secretary. The caravan would then go to UPMC and meet with those still receiving treatment and the staff tending to them.

President Trump ignored several requests from families and public officials to delay his visit opting instead to head to Pittsburgh immediately. Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto and County Executive Rich Fitzgerald were among those who urged the president to reconsider; they did not meet with him. Meanwhile thousands of protesters mobilized in Squirrel Hill and rerouted the President’s motorcade.
