This wasn’t your fair weather art show. Pittsburgh was besieged by a winter storm. This made the January Gallery Crawl put on by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust the perfect experience if you love small crowds.
Space was the cornerstone gallery featuring a traveling exhibition The Mountain and the Bumble Bee. Future Tenant was a strong second with Encapsulation: A CMU College of Art Group Exhibition. Both took art off the canvas playing with the extra dimension much forgotten. BOOM Concepts pop-up Hang With the Creatives gave a chance for people to connect with them outside Garfield. August Wilson Center hosted prints from the Teenie Harris Archive, which is quickly supersaturating the market. Associated Artists of Pittsburgh‘s exhibit quality took a major hit after their recent shake up.
