Tekko saw OVER 9,000 people gathered in Pittsburgh to celebrate anime & gaming culture. The anime expo has become the center of attention when it comes to painting the city with bright and colorful costumes from your favorite movies. The Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society has really refined their craft in providing the perfect meeting space to find the next nakama for your crew.

Full disclosure… I have a soft spot for Tekko. Mostly because it’s one letter off from Jekko. Since I started covering Tekko, it’s grown up a lot. The speakers and artists were more streamlined this year. At one point I though I saw fellow YouTuber ProZD. I joked with G3AR we should collaborate, but it probably wasn’t him… Turns out, it was. Maybe next year. But that illustrates that Tekko is more of a casual con. Stars aren’t swamped, you can take your time browsing panels, and the grand hallways of the David L. Lawrence Convention center are used as the ground floor for conversation. Literally.
Tekko is the perfect excuse to get away from your screen and see tributes to the characters beyond 30fps (#PCMasterRace). Not as scary as Anthrocon and not a maze like Comic-Con. Tekko appeals to almost every audience.
Cool Cosplay Spotted: The Monopoly Man, Furries, Overwatch, Arkham Asylum Scarecrow, Overwatch, One Piece, Walking Dead Negan, Five Nights at Freddies, Sly Cooper, League of Legends, and more.
