You never have to grow up when you have science. That’s the feeling behind the Sci-Fi weekend at the Carnegie Science Center. Several groups of professional cosplayers including Steel City Ghost Busters came out to share their passion with hundreds of kids from around the area.

As stormtroopers marched around the science center passing out high fives. Artists from Tom Savini’s Special Make-Up Effects Program trampled around as monsters. And in between the special guests the curriculum focused on science as it related to pop culture.

The trend of adults at play is a wonderful addition at the Carnegie Science Center. While these cosplay groups will be seen at the upcoming Steel City Con in August and Wizard World Comic Con in September, it is a great change to see them on the kid’s turf.
